“Alan now needs very high care, and I am at ease knowing he is in the best place possible. The care he receives is second to none, and the support I receive as his wife is beautiful. Everyone is like one big family. I always have a laugh with the residents, and the staff are always so welcoming.”

Resident’s family

“It is not easy giving up your love to a residential aged care home, but I have won the lotto with Juniper John Bryant. They are kind and caring, and always offer us both so much support.”

Resident’s family

“For someone who is experiencing bad mental health, all they want is peace of mind, and thanks to the help of Juniper Riverslea, I have that now. I am finally at ease, I am happy, and I feel well.”

“There are not enough words to express my gratitude and love for all the staff who so lovingly looked after my mum. They honestly went above and beyond the call of duty and I think I will always love them for this.”

Resident’s family

“I consider myself lucky to have gotten a spot in Ella Williams for my Mum. She stayed there 4 years, 8 months. Over the course of visiting, I got to know the place and staff well. The facilities are first rate; own room, proper physio equipment, lots of activities, good food, social programs. The amazing staff are dedicated, professional, knowledgeable and just really caring human beings.”

Resident’s family

“The staff at Guwardi Ngadu have always supported my art and love listening to my stories. It is my happy place.”

Common Residential Aged Care Frequently Asked Questions

We love questions! We’ve gathered some questions we get asked a lot. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, please call one of our friendly team members for a chat on 1300 313 000.

What constitutes Residential Aged Care?

Everyone’s care needs are different and to determine your eligibility for residential aged care in WA you will need to have an in-person assessment with an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) through My Aged Care.

This assessment provides a Support Plan and a referral code for any services that are needed.

By providing information about your personal circumstances and preferences, our team can better understand how best we can support your individual care needs.

How much do I pay, and how much will be covered by the government?

Firstly, you’ll need to have an Assets and Income Assessment done through Services Australia (formerly Centrelink), which will help determine whether you are eligible to have part of your costs met in full or partly covered by the government.

There are a range of ways you can pay for your residential aged care accommodation at Juniper, simply give us a call for a friendly chat.

Why do I need to fill out the Services Australia (formerly Centrelink) form?

Completing your Income and Assets form through Services Australia is an important step in applying for residential aged care. It helps to determine what portion of costs and fees you may need to pay, and what the government may contribute.

If you decide not to complete the form, you will be responsible for paying the full costs of your residential aged care.

If you currently receive a means tested income support payment from Services Australia or DVA and you do not own your own home, you don’t need to fill out a form, but you will need to advise Services Australia that you are moving into an aged care home.

Do you provide shared accommodation for couples?

We do have some shared rooms for couples but this is subject to availability. You can discuss your preferences with our Juniper team/Residential Manager at the home.

Do you have a waitlist if there are no vacancies at my preferred home?

Yes – once you have submitted your application and have been accepted by Juniper, if your preferred Home has no vacancies, we will place you on a waitlist and will notify you as soon as one comes available.

Can I do a tour of your Residential Aged Care homes?

Yes! You can arrange a tour by calling your preferred Juniper Residential Aged Care Home, and the team will arrange for a time and day for you to come in and take a look around.

Can I bring my own furniture/belongings with me?

Yes! We want our residents to feel a sense of belonging and treat our homes like their own, which is why we welcome everyone bringing in their own belongings (such as ornaments and photo frames) so they can personalise their room. Furniture such as a comfy chair or a TV stand will be subject to the room space available and must also meet Juniper’s health and safety requirements. This can be discussed with the Residential Manager at the home.

What services/amenities are included during my stay at a Juniper home?
