Service Cancellations

We understand that sometimes life doesn’t go to plan and you may need to cancel a scheduled service. To avoid a having to pay for the scheduled service, please give us at least two full business days’ notice. This means letting us know before midday, two business days prior to your scheduled service. (Please note: weekends and public holidays don’t count as business days.)

Under Support at Home, a provider is eligible to be paid in full for a service, and a customer contribution may also be charged. If you cancel within two business days, or if you aren’t present at the agreed time or place (no-show), you may still avoid a charge if you have reasonable grounds. In this case, we’ll need written evidence so Juniper can review your request.

Reimbursements

Under Support at Home, reimbursements for goods you purchase under your approved Care Plan are not available. This is due to the unfunded administration burden of reimbursements and to ensure we remain compliant with the program.

Care Management 

Our Care Management service takes care of all the complex coordination so you can focus on living well. Care Management is set at 10 per cent which will be deducted from your quarterly budget and held by Services Australia.

Hardship

If you cannot afford your Support at Home contributions, you can apply for hardship assistance from Services Australia.

If you are approved, the government will pay for some or all of your aged care fees.

To apply, you must submit the Aged Care Claim for financial hardship assistance form (SA462) to Services Australia. They will assess if you are eligible, including realisable assets, whether you have had a means assessment for your aged care costs and whether you meet gifting rules. If the eligibility requirements are met then your income and essential expenses are assessed.

Supplements

If you receive Support at Home, you may be eligible for additional funding through a supplement. These supplements are available if you meet specific special care criteria (such as dementia and cognition support, medical oxygen requirements or people who require feeding through enteral valves) or a veterans’ supplement. Please ask your Care Partner about any supplements you may qualify for.

Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) fees and contributions

When it comes to CHSP fees and scheduling, the Government will fund the cost of your services but it is expected CHSP providers, like Juniper, charge client contributions where clients can afford to do so. CHSP will not affect your pension.

*Travel to hydrotherapy: $4 contribution plus the cost of the service
