Works start on new Juniper staff accommodation in Fitzroy Crossing

Work officially began on permanent accommodation for Juniper aged care staff in Fitzroy Crossing this week, marked by a soil-turning ceremony on 10 June.

Built on land leased from the Bunuba Operations Aboriginal Corporation (BOAC), the development includes eight one-bedroom units and three two-bedroom units, located next to to Juniper’s existing Guwardi Ngadu Residential Aged Care Home.  The project is partially funded by a Federal Government Grant with co-contributions by Juniper.

Juniper CEO Rusell Bricknell said this development is important to address housing shortages in the area and support the ageing population in and around Fitzroy Crossing.

“The staff accommodation development reflects Juniper’s commitment to enabling older Western Australians to remain on Country and connected to the people and places they have loved their whole lives.”

“We’re really excited to be able to contribute to the Fitzroy Crossing community in this way, supporting local businesses and ensuring we look after our staff with quality accommodation.”

The 11 modular units will be constructed in Perth by Trigon Projects and delivered to Fitzroy Crossing mid-2025. Site preparation and service connections will be carried out by local tradespeople and BOAC will support cultural and environmental monitoring during excavation and disturbance of soil. The project is expected to be completed in early 2026.
