Respect key to RN career

A culture of respect and empowerment is what Registered Nurse Jas Kaur credits for her more than decade-long career at Juniper.

After spending several years working as a nurse and a midwife in her home country of India, Jas and her husband were looking for new opportunities when they migrated to Australia 16 years ago.

Jas initially thought they would stay in Australia until she completed her studies and return to India. Then, she discovered two new great loves of her life – Western Australia and the Juniper family.

“Not long after we both moved here, we started to enjoy living in Australia,” Jas said.

“WA is a comfortable lifestyle, great climate, incredible beaches and world-class food.”

The bubbly nurse, who is naturally passionate about caring for older people, fell in love with Juniper instantly.

“I feel very privileged working at Annesley,” she said.

“Annesley has not only supported me, but they have empowered me to excel in my career.”

In addition to her colleagues – whom Jas regards as friends – Jas cites Juniper’s values as the prime reason she both loves and has remained within the Juniper family.

“I come from a background where culture is everything,” she said.

“Juniper has always treated me with respect and dignity.

“I’ve always felt supported and valued.”

Customers are at the heart of everything she does. Family members of customers are also considered when Jas is supporting customers.

“Listening to customers, acting promptly to resolve their issues and involving them in decision-marking is essential,” she said.

Jas’ passion is widely known by customers and colleagues alike. Annesley Residential Manager Asha Kayaga said Jas brings compassion to every customer interaction.

“Her proactive attitude and deep empathy have made a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents and their families,” she said.
