A series of sessions hosted by Bowls WA provided established and budding lawn bowlers at Elimatta Retirement Living in Menora loads of handy pointers.
The entertaining one-hour sessions held across four weeks covered lawn bowl etiquette, game play tips and the rules of lawn bowls.
Elimatta Bowls Club member Kevin Thomas said the successful program attracted about 15 residents from the village and several had since decided to take up the sport.
“It was very enjoyable and well organised, and you learn something at the same time,” Kevin said.
Bowls WA also kindly provided all the supplies and fixins’ for a barbecue lunch for attendees expertly cooked by Elimatta’s own master chef Jim Crockett.
The sessions wrapped up earlier this month with a visit to the nearby Yokine Bowling Club to see its immaculate greens and all the facilities on offer to members.
