Juniper expands portfolio with acquisition of City of Bayswater’s aged care assets

Juniper, a leading not-for-profit provider of aged care in Western Australia, has successfully acquired the aged care assets of the City of Bayswater.

Juniper’s longstanding partnership with the City of Bayswater, dating back to 2006, includes the management and operation of a variety of the City’s Residential Aged Care homes and Retirement Living villages. These assets include the City of Bayswater Hostel, Carramar Residential Aged Care, Carramar Retirement Living Village, Salisbury Retreat Retirement Living Village, and Noranda Retirement Living Village.

From October 31, 2023, Juniper will officially assume ownership of the City of Bayswater’s aged care assets.

Juniper Chief Executive Officer Russell Bricknell said the acquisition underpins Juniper’s commitment to providing excellence in aged care for Western Australians.

“Every person deserves access to a high standard of accommodation and care. Through the acquisition of the City of Bayswater’s Residential Aged Care homes and Retirement Living communities, we can ensure we can provide that continuity of care to a growing number of older Western Australians.

“Through our management and operation of these assets over the past 17 years, we’ve gotten to know the sites, communities and most importantly our customers well and now we have a solid foundation to continue meeting their needs,” Mr Bricknell said.

“I want to express my gratitude for the hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment of the Juniper community at these sites. Juniper is ensuring this acquisition will have no impact on the quality of care and services, business will remain as usual, and it will not disrupt any care or living arrangements.

“I want to thank the City of Bayswater for its partnership over their years and recognition of Juniper’s expertise in delivering quality aged care. The acquisition ensures this quality of service will continue to be offered to their communities.”

The acquisition comes on the back of Juniper’s announcement last month (October) that it had entered an agreement to take ownership of Waratah Lodge Residential Aged Care Home in Wagin.

With one of the largest care footprints in the nation, Juniper is located throughout metropolitan Perth and in the Peel, Great Southern, Kimberley, Mid-West, and Wheatbelt regions.

Juniper supports over 3,500 Western Australians to live life well with quality accommodation and care through retirement villages, home and community care, transitional care and respite, and residential aged care.
