Juniper’s DINE team recently headed to the Comcater showrooms in Balcatta for a workshop designed to further inspire our chefs on the way they think about delivering great food for residents.
Chefs from Juniper residential homes including Crystal Haliday, Elimatta, Hayloft, Karniya, Ella Williams, Riverslea, John Bryant and the roving chef team came together for the day. According to Hospitality Services Manager Kirrie Hall, the team was super engaged and it was obvious how much the chefs cared about learning and taking away as much as they could to deliver great food for residents.
It was also an opportunity for chefs from across the residential homes to benefit from hands-on experience, share ideas with other chefs from across the juniper network, and connect over their shared love of food.
The session was supported by Juniper suppliers Ingham, Birch & Waite and Don, and focused on presentation, ingredients and innovation across the food industry.
“One of the main takeaways was that chefs can make simple food beautiful” Kirrie said. “It’s all about flavour, cooking methods and plating with eye appeal, to encourage our customers to eat.”
Strong supplier relationships are a big part of how the DINE team stays connected to what’s new across the food industry, and for Kirrie, those partnerships are everything.
“Juniper partners with a wide range of people, and all businesses are playing a massive part in innovation, waste management and getting food from consumer to plate as efficiently as possible,” she said.
With the response so positive, a second session is already being planned for October.
