How Juniper can support people living with dementia

With the theme for this year’s Dementia Action Week (DAW) being “Nobody can do it alone”, we look at how Juniper can support people living with dementia across WA and their families.

When a loved one has been diagnosed with dementia, it can be a hugely emotional and uncertain time for everyone.

However, it’s important to consider that many people with dementia can continue leading active, fulfilling lives after their diagnosis.

At Juniper, we are committed to empowering people living with dementia.

We do this by providing specialised care in a residential aged care setting or offering services to support independence at home.

Dementia Care at Home

Juniper Home Care services can provide support for day-to-day activities, helping people living with dementia to stay at home for longer.

Designed to help with dementia-specific needs, Juniper has a variety of Home Care services including Personal Care, Meal Planning, Cleaning and Household Tasks, Social Support and Companionship.

Juniper’s In-home Respite service can providing relief and support to caregivers such as family members.

These services are available across Western Australia, including Perth, the Peel region, parts of the Wheatbelt, Great Southern, Goldfields, and the Kimberley.

Dementia Care in Residential Aged Care

As dementia progresses, it can become harder for someone with the condition to live at home. They might need more support or medical care, or living at home may no longer be safe for them.

If there is a need for a move to residential care, Juniper offers specialised dementia care.  This includes dementia-specific Residential Aged Care homes and memory-support wings to create a safe and engaging environment.

Juniper homes are designed to provide a nurturing and supportive atmosphere for people living with dementia, ensuring they receive the care they need in a setting that feels like home.

Experienced Juniper staff provide dementia-enabled aged care with activities designed to promote mental stimulation, social interaction, and physical well-being.
