A day at the WAFL Grand Final

As proud sponsors of the 2026 WAFL Grand Final, Juniper was excited to be part of a fantastic weekend at Optus Stadium, supporting the local footy clubs, players, fans and communities who came together to watch Peel Thunder take on the Claremont Tigers.

It was great to see so many generations enjoying the footy together, with more than 19,000 people filling the stadium, including families, lifelong footy fans, local teams and junior players who took part in the parade before the game.

Juniper CEO Russell Bricknell was there on the day, joining our customers in the stands.

“For many Western Australians, footy is part of who they are. It connects families, generations and communities,” Russell said.

Through our partnership with the WAFL, Juniper was excited to give footy fans the chance to enjoy the Grand Final, partnering with Seven West Media to give away 25 double passes, with each pass including a $50 food and beverage voucher.

We also had the opportunity to welcome just over 30 Juniper guests to the game, giving our customers the chance to enjoy the Grand Final with someone special. There was a splash of pink amongst the stands, with customers wearing their Juniper hats behind the goals as they enjoyed the day with some bringing along their partners, friends and family.

We were happy to give our customers the opportunity to get out into the community, enjoy the Grand Final and spend the day doing something they love or experiencing something new. Some of our customers were already big footy fans and were excited to be at the game, while for others, the chance to visit Optus Stadium for the first time was just as exciting.

Some of our customers were camera-ready as they arrived on the Juniper bus, with a few appearing throughout the Channel 7 coverage of Juniper Care Director Leanne Plowright, who was interviewed just before the league game.

Footy in particular is something we see bringing people together across our Juniper communities, with customers taking part in footy tipping competitions, getting together to watch the games and celebrating days like Derby Day, so we knew there would be plenty of customers excited for the chance to get out and enjoy the WAFL Grand Final.

Juniper also had a stand outside the stadium, where visitors could pick up a mini footy stress ball and take part in our $300 raffle by picking who they thought would win the flag. Congratulations to our lucky winner, who has now been contacted.

Overall it was a fantastic day out, and Juniper was proud to support a Grand Final that brought together so many people from across WA, including our customers. It was especially rewarding to see them out enjoying the footy, spending time with their loved ones and enjoying the Grand Final alongside thousands of other footy fans.
