At Juniper, if you’ve been thinking about accessing our in-house podiatry services, support services provided by our in-house Allied Health staff can be covered by either your Home Care Package or Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP).

If you’re a Juniper Home Care customer, the benefits of accessing our aged care podiatry services are endless. A podiatrist can help you with:
General foot assessment to spot and issues and see where they can help.
Diabetic foot assessment, including testing your sensation.
Advise and provide regular nail care and general foot care.
Recommend footwear for issues, such as swollen feet or needing more supportive shoes to reduce falls.
Look after foot wounds.
How do you know if you will benefit from seeing a podiatrist?
If you’re an aged care customer, seeing a podiatrist can be beneficial if you experience any of the following symptoms or conditions related to your feet, ankles, or lower legs. Here are some signs that it might be a good idea to see a podiatrist:
- Persistent foot pain
- Foot injuries
- Changes in foot shape or appearance’
- Diabetes
- Ingrown toenails
- Numbness or tingling in the feet
- Difficulty walking or standing
- Heel pain or plantar fasciitis
- Have swelling or inflammation
- Have poor circulation
If you’re experiencing any of the above, your Juniper Customer Care Lead will work with you to create a Care Plan so you receive the right services to achieve your goals.
Perhaps you want to be able to catch the bus to get to your favourite activity but the step onto the bus is too daunting? Our physiotherapist can work on strength and balance, while other members of our allied health team like an occupational therapist can help find the right aids and our podiatrist can recommend on which footwear would be best to provide you with support and stability whilst you are out.
