COVID-19 Update for Residents, Families and Representatives (Residential Facilities)

In his latest update to families and residents, Juniper CEO, Chris Hall thanked all residents, families and representatives for their ongoing support, patience and understanding regarding Juniper’s current restricted visiting and screening arrangements at residential care facilities in response to COVID-19.

The update highlighted:

  • Through our joint efforts, people in aged care remain safe and the easing of community restrictions by Government reflects this.
  • No Juniper resident, client, staff member or volunteer has tested positive for COVID-19.
  • The Commonwealth has recently announced the further easing of visitor restrictions to residential aged care facilities.
  • These revised visiting arrangements are inconsistent with the WA State Government’s COVID-19 Visitors to Residential Aged Care Facilities Directions (WA Directions).
  • Juniper and all visitors are legally required to comply with the WA Directions.
  • It is anticipated that updates will shortly be made to the WA Directions and the Industry Code regarding visiting restrictions at residential care facilities.
  • As soon as changes are made Juniper will inform all residents, families and representatives of the changes and how they impact the visiting arrangements currently in place at Juniper residential care facilities.

Juniper’s intent is to ensure visiting arrangements suit both resident and family needs whilst complying with the WA Directions and the Industry Code.

Residents, families and representatives are encouraged to continue to discuss their needs with the Residential Manager so that arrangements can be made on a case-by-case basis within the current visiting requirements.

The current visitor screening process will continue across all our residential care facilities which include health and flu vaccination checks.

Juniper sincerely appreciates the cooperation and understanding shown by families, representatives, residents and throughout this unprecedented time.

Together, we will continue to protect the health and wellbeing of all Juniper residents, clients, staff and volunteers.
