Juniper, one of Western Australia’s largest providers of aged care, home care and retirement living services, has named Mr Russell Bricknell as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Juniper Board Chair, Ms Maree Arnason, said the Board of Juniper is delighted to announce Mr Bricknell’s appointment.

“Mr Bricknell is a highly experienced leader and CEO with an extensive background in the aged care and community services sector,” said Ms Arnason.

Prior to his current role as CEO of Baptistcare WA, Mr Bricknell was the Global Chief Executive of Aged Care Channel Australia, overseeing operations in Australia, the United Kingdom, Ireland and New Zealand.  Prior to this role, Mr Bricknell was Chief Operating Officer of Australian Home Care, a leading provider of home-based care to people with disabilities in NSW and Victoria, a General Manager of Baptistcare NSW and ACT, and Executive Director of Churches of Christ Care in Queensland.

“In addition to his extensive senior management experience with large and complex not-for-profit organisations, including with faith-based entities, Mr Bricknell brings highly relevant experience having worked in Government and commercial sectors in Australia and overseas.”

“Mr Bricknell has led major organisational transformation and change management in aged care, essential pre-requisites for leading Juniper through major reforms that are impacting the Australian aged care sector.  He has both strategic leadership and operational level experience in the aged care sector at national and local levels, together with a record of building successful teams,” Ms Arnason said.

Mr Bricknell holds degrees in education and science, together with a Master of Business Administration, is a Graduate and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.

“I am delighted to be joining Juniper and its team of people committed to caring for older people across the State.  Together with the team, I look forward to making a real difference in the lives of people we care for and support,” said Mr Bricknell.

Mr Bricknell commences in his new role with Juniper on 2 December 2022.  He replaces Mr Chris Hall AM who announced his retirement in April this year and who will finish as CEO of Juniper upon Mr Bricknell’s commencement.
