Farewell May and thank you for 44 years!

After an impressive 44 years of service, Juniper bid farewell to dedicated Multi-Skilled Carer, May Wancer, who worked at Juniper Hilltop in Bentley for her entire career.
May first began with Juniper, then called Central Methodist Mission, in 1976 as a Kitchen Hand. She was only 21 years old, just married and secured the job with the help of her neighbour even though the “House Mother” at the time thought she was too young!
“We were washing all the dishes by hand. There were no dishwashers back then,” recalls May.
It wasn’t long before May adopted a role as a Carer and Weekend Supervisor and became Juniper Hilltop’s very first Occupational Health and Safety Representative. May has loved her time with Juniper and describes her role as incredibly rewarding.
“I’ve loved working at Juniper Hilltop and getting to know the people I care for and their families. It has to be about the people.”
“Juniper Hilltop has such a warm and friendly atmosphere and the staff take such pride in their work. I’ve made some wonderful long-term friendships and I plan to pop back regularly for visits,” said May.
