Volunteer Stories – Meet David
Posted on May 23, 2021
Former Baker, David, started his volunteer work at Juniper in April 2015 as a bus driver for Juniper’s Community Bus Service.
After leaving full-time employment, David knew he wanted to give back to the community and help older Western Australians in some way.
The Community Bus Service provides important transport to Juniper’s retirement living residents.
“Regular users of the bus service become good friends and I really enjoy hearing the stories they tell.”
“The bus service is loved by all. I provide regular shopping trips, picking up passengers as well as taking them to coffee spots and out to lunch before returning them back to their homes” said David.
“Clients really do appreciate the service and it allows them to remain independent.”
“Since starting this role, I have had some great fun and met some fantastic people. I just love volunteering for Juniper.”
To all our valuable volunteers like David – thank you!
