Supporting Your Wellbeing

To ensure your wellbeing and to prevent the spread of COVID-19, all Juniper Home and Care staff are adhering to the following Processes and Procedures:

  • Calling each client before visits to check they are well and haven’t travelled by asking 3 key questions:
  1. Are you feeling unwell with any flu like symptoms including cough, fever, runny nose, sore throat, vomiting or diarrhoea?
  2. Have you recently travelled overseas of returned in the last 14 days from overseas?
  3. Have you been in contact with anyone that have travelled overseas/recently returned from overseas?
  • Increased Hand Hygiene – following the ‘5 moment rule’: Before entering home, Before contact, Before procedures/activity, After procedures/activity and up on leaving the home;
  • Maintaining cough and sneeze etiquette (into inner elbow);
  • Reducing unnecessary contact;
  • Adopting precautions such as using a face mask and goggles to protect from cross infection if and when required (suspected symptoms);
  • Escalating any concerns to leaders if and when required; and,
  • Juniper is also working closely with our suppliers and stores to limit any potential disruption to product availability.

We are also directing any team members who may be displaying flu like symptoms to refrain from coming to work and isolate at home until their symptoms are fully resolved.

If you are feeling unwell, we ask that you please reconsider your services and phone us to discuss options so that together we can keep everyone of our clients and staff safe and well.

Keeping Connected

Your Client Care Advisor will continue to be available for you. Our priority is to ensure we are keeping you safe, connected and supported.

We will continue to actively following the advice from the Australian Government's Department of Health.

We are working to ensure a safe environment, keep you well and minimising any risk of exposure or infection.

If you have any questions concerns, you can also call the Coronavirus Health Information Line on 1800 020 080, Health Direct on 1800 300 243 or your GP.

Will I still receive my services from Juniper?

Juniper will continue to provide safe care and support services to our home care clients. To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 these exceptions apply; if you:

  • Have a fever ≥38C and an acute respiratory infection (such as a sore throat, cough or shortness of breath)
  • Have been in contact with someone with confirmed COVID-19
  • have or anyone you live with has been in contact or returned from overseas; interstate or intrastate in the past 14 days
  • Live with someone who presently has an illness.

If you are unwell or unsure of your health, please contact your GP and your Client Care Advisor before your next home visit.

Will my care worker need to wear a mask at my house?

Health authorities have advised that people do not need to wear a mask unless you have any flu like symptoms (our staff will not be at work if they have flu like symptoms).

Care staff are trained to maintain hand hygiene, social distance and cough etiquette to help reduce the risk of infection. We ask that our clients, carers and family members practice good hygiene at all times.

What is Juniper doing to keep clients safe?

Juniper has established infection control and prevention measures that apply to COVID-19. To help ensure clients’ wellbeing and minimise any risk of exposure, our staff have received additional training; have access to protective equipment when required and have increased the level of hygiene precautions at all times.

What is Juniper doing if its workers are unwell?

Juniper has directed any team member who may be displaying flu-like symptoms to refrain from coming to work, visit their GP, and isolate at home until their symptoms are fully resolved.

Your Client Care Advisor will be in contact with you to maintain your services and keep you informed.

If you are feeling unwell, we ask that you please contact Juniper Home and Community Care straight away to discuss your situation and needs.
